Saturday we went to the town of Battle, England. This was the site of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. William the Conqueror built the Battle Abbey a couple years later to commemorate the fight, and several of the buildings are standing a thousand years later. A sobering story… William build a church at the top of the hill where King Harold and the Saxon army fell, setting the alter at the spot where King Harold was killed. After wandering around the site for about an hour, Griffin announced he *had* to go to the bathroom. What's a mom to do? A photo of the event...
