*** Picture of the Day*** ("Ravel's house")

We never made it to the D-Day beaches during our long weekend in Normandy; we stayed in a small village a couple hours from the beaches. The house we stayed in was across the street from Ravel's house (probably not *his* house, but a friend's... he was a composer best known for "Bolero", and lived with mom and dad until he was 32). In any case, the picture is a shockingly stunning family outside "Ravel's house". The house was used by the Nazis as their regional headquarters during WWII. The stories go that the house is covered with swastikas, etc., inside. Decorations outside the house have noticeable bullet holes because the Germans are said to have used them for target practice.
